Biography Basel Al Maqousi
Basel was born in Gaza in 1971 and is a visual artist and freelance photographer. He studied art at the Gaza YMCA and attended the Darat al Funun Summer Academy. He won the Charles Asprey Award and a UNESCO Fellowship, exhibited internationally, and taught at the Jabalia Rehabilitation Society.
